Skin Rejuvenation
Laser resurfacing is a very popular, non-invasive cosmetic procedure. This type of treatment can provide individuals with a more youthful appearance that is free of certain imperfections.
GOOD CANDIDATES for Laser Resurfacing
The most ideal candidates for laser resurfacing are those who are in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the procedure. Laser resurfacing can be an excellent solution for individuals who have:
- Fine lines and wrinkles on the skin
- Scars (as a result of acne)
- Age spots and pigmented areas
Laser Resurfacing Procedure
Laser resurfacing is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. During the procedure, a pulsed light laser penetrates deep into skin, removing small layers of tissue and transferring heat into the deeper layers of the skin. The heat stimulates the generation of new skin cells to produce more collagen and elastin fibers. Laser resurfacing may be combined with other procedures or skin care products in order to obtain the most beneficial results.
RECOVERY After Laser Resurfacing
After the procedure is complete, redness and discomfort may be present on the face and neck. Makeup can be worn as these symptoms improve over the next few days. Although patients should avoid direct sun exposure for the first few weeks, there is little to no downtime associated with this procedure.
YOUR NEW LOOK
It may take a few months before the final results are apparent, but patients are often very pleased with their results. Typically, patients develop a renewed sense of self-confidence after their final look becomes apparent.
