Facial Implants

Having well-defined facial features is a physical trait that most attractive people have. However, due to genetics and other factors, some individuals are unable to attain noticeable facial characteristics, such as a prominent chin. Fortunately, board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Yadro Ducic, can help patients obtain a more attractive looking chin.

GOOD CANDIDATES

Ideal candidates for facial implants are those who are in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the procedure. Often, a rhinoplasty procedure is performed in conjunction with chin implant surgery in order to achieve the most beneficial results.

Facial Implant Procedure

Chin implant surgery takes about an hour to perform and is done under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. After an incision is made under the natural crease line of the chin or inside of the mouth, the chin implant is inserted. The implant is made out of synthetic material that feels like body tissue and is deemed safe by the FDA. Once the implant is fully inserted, the incisions are closed and bandages are applied.

RECOVERY

After the procedure is complete, some swelling and discomfort may be apparent, but prescribed medication can help ease these symptoms. Most patients are able to return to work in about a week, but should avoid chewing foods that add pressure to the chin area.

YOUR NEW LOOK

Patients are usually very pleased with their results after a chin implant procedure. The changes are long-lasting and patients find that they have an increase in self-confidence because of their physical improvement.
